Class Description
The Infant and Child First Aid, CPR/AED class focuses on skills for helping children and infants.

The purpose of the course if to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. This will prepare you for caring for a suddenly injured or ill infant or child until more advanced medical personnel arrive to take over.

This class is a Hybrid Class which gives students the ability to do conceptual training online, then attend an in-person skills session to receive hands on practice and live feedback.

Online Portion
The online portion of this class can range from 45 minutes to 2 hours long depending on technology limitations and familiarity with the skills. Participants will receive a link via email after booking a class. The link takes the participants to the Health Safety Institute website. The online portion must be completed before attending the scheduled in-person session.

In-Person Instructor Led Portion
The in-person skills session typically lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. In this portion we review:​

Child and Infant Choking Relief

First Aid for a victim experiencing life threatening bleeding

Severe Allergic Reaction

Certificates
Participants who successfully complete the online and in-person portions will receive a Healthy Safety Institute Certification in Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED. Certificates are valid for two years and will be issued in about one business day after the in-person class. Certificates will be delivered digitally via email from Health Safety Institute.
